A quick-thinking member of the public aided in the arrest of a man in Crawley.

He phoned police to report a man was was acting suspiciously around cars in Malthouse Road Sunday evening.

Following a search of the area, officers arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

The suspect has been released on bail until 31st March.
