Crawley Man Collects his 2,000th Monopoly Board

The world’s biggest Monopoly fan and Guinness World Record holder from Crawley collected his 2,000th special edition Monopoly Board – at the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge.  

Last summer Neil Scallan spoke to Susy Radio after breaking his world record attempt for the most Monopoly board games in a collection with over 1,800 editions of the board game.  Neil’s climb to the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge last week meant he could tick off his number one bucket list experience and collect his 2,000th special edition Monopoly board at the same time.

He was surprised by Mr Monopoly awaiting his arrival at the summit of the bridge.

Five People Arrested In Connection With Crawley Fight

Five people have been arrested in connection with a fight in Crawley which took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.  

A 22 year old man from Crawley remains in an induced coma in hospital after being involved in a town centre fight outside Lloyds Barbers.  Four men in their twenties and a 16 year old boy were arrested for a range of offences between them, including GBH with intent, criminal damage and assaulting a police officer.  

All five remain in police custody.

Total depth of Surrey potholes is 7 times deeper than Channel

The total depth of potholes in Surrey is over 1,300 metres – more than 7 times that of the English Channel.

The figures have been put together by confused.com to highlight the condition of our roads.

Overall England’s potholes have a total depth of almost 32,000 metres – deeper than the earth’s crust.

Suspicious car fire in Copthorne

A car fire in Copthorne is being treated as ‘suspicious.’

Fire crews were called to Clay Hall Lane late on Wednesday night and had to use breathing apparatus while dealing with the flames.

It is believed the vehicle had been abandoned and set alight deliberately.
