A Merstham man was given a 12 month community order after pleading guilty to making racially offensive comments on Facebook.

Mark Weston admitted the offence at Redhill Magistrates’ Court last Friday (25th July).

He was found to have posted grossly offensive messages on the social networking site earlier this year.

In light of this case, Surrey Police is reminding people to think twice before making comments online which could offend others.
