Jackknifed lorry closes clockwise M25

Drivers had a lucky escape yesterday after a lorry crashed through the central reservation of the M25 and jackknifed.

The incident occurred just before 10 o’clock in the morning.

The lorry was also in collision with a van. Neither driver required hospital treatment.

A fuel spillage meant lane closures whilst the surface was assessed.

The clockwise carriage was closed completely for about an hour between J5 M26 and J6 Godstone to enable emergency services to deal with the incident.

Lane closures were also put in place anticlockwise for repairs to the concrete central reservation which is unlikely to finish setting until the weekend.
