Firefighters Open Day in Sussex

If you’ve ever thought of being a part time firefighter and live in mid Sussex, you can come along and find out what the job is all about..

Retained firefighters combine their day jobs with being ‘on call’ for the fire service. They receive regular training and are paid a retaining fee as well as fees for incidents or any community events they attend.

There’ll be a ‘have a go’ day at East Grinstead Fire station on Saturday week (Jan 16th) and this will give you the perfect opportunity to discover what a career as a retained firefighter can offer.

You’ll be able to have a go at firefighting activities and find out the physical and other requirements of the job.

The day will run from 9am until 4pm at the Fire Station on London Road. It is open to anyone aged 18 and over.

To book your place please email frs.stn64@westsussex.gov.uk or call 01243 752582
