Two Former Councillors To Be Made Aldermen

Tandridge District Council has made two former councillors Aldermen at its meeting last week.  The title is given to former councillors who, in the Council’s opinion, have provided eminent services to the district.  They must have also served for at least 20 years.

The new Aldermen are Gordon Keymer and Hilary Turner.  Gordon Keymer served from 1987 until this year.  He was Leader of the Council for most of that time and represented the Oxted North and Tandridge Ward.  Hilary Turner served from 1995 until this year, representing Portley Ward in Caterham.
