Successful Gatwick Airport Policing Operation

There has been a fall in disruptive passengers at Gatwick Airport following a successful policing operation.

Over the past few months, Sussex Police has worked closely with Gatwick Airport, its pubs and bars, and airlines to prevent and reduce reports of problematic passengers at the airport and on flights.  Specific routes were targeted as part of Operation Disrupt which ran from 1st May until 30th September.  Officers also responded to reports of disruptive passengers on other routes.

A total of 113 incidents were recorded, 44 passengers were refused carriage due to their behaviour, a further 43 were given words of advice and 20 were arrested.  All figures are down from those issued in 2015.
