Operation Watershed Protects West Sussex Against Flooding

Every community in West Sussex now has a powerful tool to protect themselves against flooding.

All 159 parish, town and neighbourhood councils have a free licence to access Parish Online, thanks to the Operation Watershed Scheme.  Parish Online is an online data mapping tool.  Users have access to Ordnance Survey maps which show data of drainage systems, flood zones and boreholes among others.

Previously parish and town councils have struggled when planning flood resilience work because they have not had clear access to key information and mapping data.

Sussex and Surrey Association of Local Committees successfully applied for over £27,000 from Operation Watershed to pay for the licences for three years.
