West Sussex Road Safety Team’s warning to speeding essential drivers

Reduced traffic on the road is not a reason for speeding.

That’s the message from West Sussex’s Road Safety team who says some residents are taking the empty roads during the coronavirus lockdown as a reason to drive faster than they should.

West Sussex County Council’s Roger Elkins said that emergency services in the NHS, who are under immense pressure already, warned that speeding makes their life even more difficult. He said those who really need to travel should do so appropriately and within the speed limit.
