First stage of Marketfield Way development nearly complete

The first stage of work on Redhill’s Marketfield Way development is almost complete.

Work to get the site ready for construction continued despite the Coronavirus outbreak which shutdown much of the country over recent months. The old offices and shops at the site have now been demolished.

When completed, the development will have a new cinema, shops and homes.

The council has signed a deal with VINCI Construction UK for the main building work.

Cllr Eddie Humphreys, Reigate and Banstead’s Executive Member for Place and Economic Prosperity, said:
“With our investment in this development we are pushing forward the growth of Redhill town centre, which due to the current crisis, is even more important than ever. The construction is providing hundreds of jobs, as well as lots of training and business opportunities at a time when they are really needed.
“We appreciate that while the development takes place there may be some disruption and we thank the local community for their patience while we bring forward this landmark project for Redhill.”
