New COVID-19 Screening Service Launches at Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport has announced a new Covid-19 screening service.

ExpressTest screening will be available for passengers, staff, and local residents, with results available the next day.  The test is for those who may require a valid, negative COVID-19 test certificate before and after travel.  It should also meet requirements for the Government’s expected ‘test and release’ scheme to ease travel restrictions and quarantine.

The cost of the PCR swab test for Gatwick’s passengers and staff will be £60, and £99 for the general public. The test centre will be located at the airport’s long stay car park at the South Terminal.  The booking portal goes live on Friday with the first appointments available from next Monday 30th November.

Anyone with recognisable COVID-19 symptoms will still need to use an NHS testing facility.

To book a test, people will need to visit www.expresstest.co.uk and select a date and time.  Customers will then be sent a QR code which they must bring with them to their appointment, along with their passport or employee ID. Payment will be taken during the booking process. Opening hours are 08.00 to 20.00 and customers are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to appointments.
