More than 10,000 volunteers have helped keep residents in Surrey safe during December as part of a multi-agency response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

County leaders including Reigate and Banstead Leader Councillor Mark Brunt have thanked the volunteers for their work, which has included making direct contact with more than 32,000 vulnerable people around the county.

276 voluntary community and faith based groups have also been working during the month on the campaign providing both online and offline support.

In a video message, county leaders expressed their pride in the work done by all volunteers.
