Psychiatric Assessment for teen charged after gunshots at Crawley College

A teenager accused of carrying an imitation firearm and knife onto Crawley College campus is undergoing a psychiatric assessment.

Lawyers for Sandijs Dreimanis, who is accused of two counts of assault at the college, say it is to ensure the 18-year-old is fit to enter a plea.

On 26 April, Crawley College was evacuated and dozens of armed officers were dispatched after reports of gunshots being heard.

Dreimanis is in custody ahead of a further hearing in 8 July.
