Tom finished the 2020/21 season as Crawley’s joint-top goalscorer alongside Max Watters on 15 goals. Nichols also finished on top of the assists tally with 11 in all competitions. Tom’s incredible season was rewarded as the fans voted him as Crawley Town’s Player of the Season for the 2020/21 campaign. Nichols received 35% of the public vote, having seen off fierce competition from Jordan Tunnicliffe, Glenn Morris, George Francomb and Jake Hessenthaler.

The Reds also announced the signing of 22-year-old Alex Battle on a one-year deal with a second year option.

Battle starred in pre-season and became known to fans after some impressive “Trialist” displays within the side. Alex notably netted a hat-trick in our 1-6 victory over Horley Town, and was consequently our top goalscorer in pre-season.

Manager John Yems said: “I’m very pleased to have Alex with us in the squad, he has been looking for a deserved opportunity in the first team and fans saw him score a hat-trick against Horley in pre-season, I wish him well here at Crawley.”
