Help for rough sleepers

Crawley Borough Council has got 95 people off the streets since the start of the pandemic, with over half of these into the private sector accommodation.

The early stage of the pandemic put a huge strain on staff as they worked tirelessly to get vulnerable people off the streets. It’s said that people experiencing homelessness, are three times more likely to experience a chronic health condition.

Since March 2019, the council has achieved an 80 per cent reduction from 40 people sleeping rough, down to 8 in October 2021.
