Drone near Gatwick Airport causes Temporary Diversions

On Sunday 13th May several flights at Gatwick Airport had to be diverted at short notice due to a drone which was believed to be in the area.

A post made on the Spotted Crawley Facebook group, stated it was a birthday present for someone, who was learning to fly the unit in Goffs park, when it suddenly lost control.

Operations at the airport were suspended for around 50 minutes, where twelve inbound aircraft were diverted to other locations.
