More Surrey School Places

More than 3,500 extra school places have been created in Surrey this year to meet a growth in demand from rising birth rates.
The places have been created at 45 different schools – 43 primary and two secondary.

It brings the total number of places created over the past five years to just over 13,000 – with a further 13,000 needed over the next five years.

The new places are part of the biggest school expansion in Surrey’s history but Surrey County Council is warning that it faces a funding shortfall of £30 million in the next two years alone to provide the places the county needs in future.
