Children can now drive to the operating theatre at East Surrey Hospital.

Tim Campbell-Smith, a surgeon at the Hospital and a Tesla car owner was keen to get a little car for young patients to drive themselves to theatres prior to having a surgical procedure.

Following an appeal on the Tesla owners’ Facebook page, Mr Campbell-Smith was delighted to get a response from Mark Print in Glasgow who donated the new Tesla Model S miniature sports car as a thank you to the NHS for looking after him following major surgery.

Ellice Road Car Park In Oxted: Planning Application

Planning application for the redevelopment of Ellice Road car park in Oxted has been recommended for approval by Tandridge District Council’s Planning Committee.

The application will now be taken to the full Council meeting on 19th April for the Council as a whole to decide whether to grant planning permission. The application is to build a second level to the car park to create 300 spaces.  One amendment was imposed on the application which was to remove four spaces to create more landscaping to screen the car park from properties in Amy Road.

If it is approved, work is expected to begin in June and be completed by the end of the year.
