New Arts Space at The Hawth

A new arts space will soon be opened at The Hawth in Crawley. The Loft is situated in the Upper Foyer of the Crawley theatre and offers a new studio space for courses run by The Hawth and other local arts groups.  

Existing classes which will use The Loft as their permanent base include The West End Masterclass and the newly launched Hawth Choir.  Among the new classes to use the space are the Singer/Songwriter Class and a Creative Writing Course.

Work Begins at Queens Square in Crawley

Work is underway to transform Queens Square in Crawley.  It is hoped that the transformation will help to encourage landowners and businesses to invest more in the area, and act as a catalyst for wider regeneration.  

The £3.2 million pound project should be completed next Summer.  It will include high quality paving, new seating and planting, and a central focal point including an attractive plaza and decorative water feature.  

All shops and businesses will remain open during the works.

 

Armed Robbery in Horsham

A man has been left shaken following an armed robbery in Horsham.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached from behind by someone in an alleyway by the train station car park shortly after 1 o’clock Friday morning.

The offender tripped him and, whilst the victim was lying on the floor, produced a shiny object thought to be a knife or screwdriver.

The victim was ordered to hand over his mobile phone and the suspect ran off once he had it in his possession.

The suspect is described as a white teenager around 15 years old, approximately 5’10’’ tall and of slim build.

Teenager injured in Northgate Hit-And-Run

A teenager has sustained head and arm injuries during a hit-and-run in Northgate.

The 15 year-old boy was walking along Woodfield Road just before 5 o’clock Sunday evening when a black Vauxhall Astra collided with him.

The car did not stop at the scene but was traced to Charlwood Road in Crawley.

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.  He has been bailed pending further investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Investigation launched into Warninglid Burglary

Appeals are being made after a house was burgled in Warninglid.

The offenders are thought to have gained access to the property in Slaugham Lane through a smashed kitchen window around the back.

All rooms were searched with several smart phones and a gold necklace stolen during the incident the afternoon of Friday 16th September.
