NHS Staff Survey Results

Results from the national NHS Staff Survey have ranked Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in the top 20% of hospitals nationally.
Staff also strongly felt that their role makes a difference to patients and that they were part of a strong team delivering excellent healthcare.

A total of 62% of staff from across the organisation responded to the survey.

Chief executive Michael Wilson said that he was proud of the results.

He said that it demonstrated the commitment that staff have in making a difference to the people they care for.

Caterham Robbery

A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Caterham in the early hours of last Saturday morning (Feb 20th).

He’s been bailed to return to the Salfords custody suite in April

The robbery took place outside the Ladybird public house in Guards Avenue sometime between 1.20 and 1.30am.

The victim had left the pub when he was approached by two men, who punched him and threatened him before taking him to the Tesco cashpoint and making him withdraw a substantial amount of cash.

They then made off.

Both suspects are described as white and one is described as 5ft 10 tall and wearing a black beanie hat.

Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries and are still seeking the second man and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have been leaving the pub at the time, or with any other information, to come forward. Tandridge Charity Ball Raises Nearly £3,700

Nearly £3700 was raised at the Chairman of Tandridge Council, Councillor Rose Thorn’s Charity Ball last week.

It was held on at the Surrey National Golf Club, Rook Lane, Chaldon on Friday 12 February.

The money will go to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust, and Steps, which helps families with babies born with Clubfoot and Hip Displacement.

The ball was attended by the High Sheriff of Surrey, Surrey Mayors and the Vice-Chairman of Sevenoaks District Council, as well as people from the voluntary sector, local businesses, councillors and council staff.

Princess Royal Visits Brockham

The Princess Royal was in Brockham last week. She came to Surrey to meet 18 year old Danesh Amin, master chocolatier and founder of Brocks Chocs which is based in the village.

The Princess Royal, addressed a crowd of assembled guests and praised Danesh’s achievements.

Sports Update

In football, in League 2, Crawley secured a one all draw at home to second place Plymouth Argyle on Saturday. Crawley are in sixteenth place.

In the Ryman Premier League, Charlie Penney scored a hat trick in Merstham’s three one win, away to Wingate and Finchley. In the Ryman South League, Three Bridges won two one away to Sittingbourne. East Grinstead Town remain in 20th place after losing two nil away to Hythe Town. South Park’s match against Worthing was postponed.

Elsewhere Redhill’s home match against Hanworth Villa was also postponed, and Horley Town won four nil at home to Spelthorne Sports.
