In League 2, Crawley Town move up to 19th place after a 3-3 draw at home to Carlisle United on Saturday.  Captain, Jimmy Smith scored the equaliser in stoppage time.  The Reds have two league games left to play this season.

It was the last game of the season on Saturday in the Ryman Premier Division; Merstham finish in 14th place after losing 2-1 away to Burgess Hill.

In the Ryman South, South Park end the season in 8th place after beating Sittingbourne 2-0 at home.  Horsham lost 1-0 at home to Hythe Town and East Grinstead Town lost 3-1 away to Carshalton Athletic.  Three Bridges lost 4-2 to Walton Casuals and will be relegated next season; this was a home match for Three Bridges but was played at Merstham after their pitch was vandalised recently.

In the Combined Counties Premier Division, Horley Town won 4-0 away to Raynes Park Vale.  In the Combined Counties Division One, Redhill beat Bagshot 6-1 at Kiln Brow and after ending the season in second place, will be promoted next season.  The Lobsters now turn their attention to the Division One Cup final against AC London.

Easter Football Update

It’s been a busy Easter weekend for our local football teams.

In League 2 after losing 1-0 away to Accrington Stanley yesterday, Crawley Town slip to 20th place with three games left this season.

In the Ryman Premier Division, Merstham lost 1-0 at home to Kingstonian yesterday.  Merstham are in 13th place with their last match of the season on Saturday when they travel to Burgess Hill Town.

All our local teams in the Ryman South also have just one league match left this season.  South Park remain in 10th place after a successful weekend beating Molesey 3-1 away.  Horsham gained 3 points yesterday away to Godalming after winning 2-1, and East Grinstead lost 2-1 to Three Bridges.  Despite beating East Grinstead, and with two games still to play, Three Bridges are second from bottom in the table and already know that they will be playing county league football next season and will be relegated from Division 1 of the Ryman South league.

In the Combined Counties Premier Division, Horley Town lost 2-1 yesterday at home to Epsom and Ewell.

Redhill still have two games to play in the Combined Counties Division One.  After winning 6-3 at home to Cove on Saturday, Redhill can’t now be caught in second place and will be promoted next season to join neighbours Horley Town in the Combined Counties Premier Division.
