Ex-Crawley Resident must repay more than £30,000 worth of profits after eBay fraud

An ex-Crawley resident will have to repay the 31 thousand pounds he made by fraudulently selling memory cards and USB drives on eBay.

Amish Patel of Saxonville in Essex, and formerly from Wakehurst Drive in Crawley, was convicted of false claims about the storage capacity of USB sticks and memory cards that he was selling through the internet auction site.

As well as repaying his ill gotten gains the 30 year old has to serve a 10 month suspended jail sentence for each charge.

He’ll have to carry out 120 hours of community service and he also has to pay his victims £100 and cover the full court costs which come to over £5,000.
