Man fined for drug driving and sending a text

A 22-year-old-man who had been texting while high on drugs behind the wheel of his car has been banned from driving.
In June a Policeman spotted Billy Pool on his mobile as he was driving his Volkswagen Polo in London Road, East Grinstead. The officer followed him into a nearby road and arrested him.
Pool, of West Street in East Grinstead, pleaded guilty to the charges and was banned from driving for a year.
He was also fined £300, had to pay £85 in costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
A total of 59 people have now been convicted of offences after being arrested in June as part of Operation Dragonfly, Sussex Police’s crackdown on drink and drug driving.
