Stressed Southern Commuters Stage Protest

Commuters using Southern’s London to Brighton rail services have staged a protest over continuing disruption as another strike on the network looms.

Commuters described being “turfed off trains”, left with no social life, seeing two services cancelled in a row, seeing their work suffer and feeling “incredibly stressed” and “utterly powerless”.

The union is in dispute with Southern over the introduction of driver-only trains on which guards will no longer open and close doors.

A strike which is scheduled next tuesday is expected to cause more cancellations and disruption.
