Surrey and Sussex Organisations Support #EndChildFood Poverty Campaign

Local organisations are coming together in support of the End Child Food Poverty Campaign.

The Merstham Mix Cafe, a local initiative to provide meals from surplus ingredients, is taking donations via the website to help them provide half term meals.   Donations can be made via their website on this link:  mersthammix.enthuse.com/halftermmeals-donation#!/

Crawley Town Football Club has pledged to offer meals to those children in need over the half term break.   Running from the 26th-30th October, orders can be made for the following day by emailing noreply@crawleytownfc.com, with collection then taking place between 11am and 12noon the following day.

Manchester United and England striker, Marcus Rashford has led a campaign to end child food poverty and has called for an extension of free meals during school holidays.

Responses to the campaign have escalated after the government voted against extending free meal vouchers out of term time in England.  It said there was enough support available through the benefits system for families facing hardship.
