Covid cases down but still highest infection rate in Surrey

Covid-19 cases in Reigate & Banstead have fallen in the past seven days, but the borough still has the highest infection rate in Surrey.

522 cases were reported in Reigate and Banstead last week, according to figures, giving the area an infection rate of 350 per 100,000 people. This is below the national average, but above the average for Surrey and the South East.

However, the figures are down 35% on the previous week and to-date, 83% of the borough’s adult residents have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
