Care services could face cuts

Care services could have to be cut, warns Surrey’s council leader.

Speaking at a Housing and Communities and Local Government select committee into how to fund adult social care, Tim Oliver said the council can make no more savings and more money must come from central government.

Without it he says the service may have to be reduced.

Mr Oliver dismissed a rise in tax and said plans to equalise the cost of all care down to the level a council pays could destabilise the market.
