A woman was attacked in Crawley on Wednesday night. 

Police were called to Chanctonbury Way just after 10 pm to reports of a woman having suffered serious head injuries in an assault involving a weapon.  She was taken to hospital by ambulance. 

A 30 year old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has been released on conditional bail. 

Police would like to hear from anyone who has information which could help with the investigation.
