The variety of tennis offered at parks in Crawley has won a Tennis Sussex award in the Parks Venue category.

Judges were impressed by the upgraded facilities offered on nine courts at three venues across the town which were previously underutilised.  Free weekly sessions are offered for people aged 16 and over with a learning disability, and there are plans for a programme for people with a mental health diagnosis.

In 2023 more than 100 people took part in Tennis for Free sessions in Crawley, and there were more than 800 pay and play bookings last year.

Crawley Parks Tennis now moves forward to judging for the regional award and then potentially a national award.
