38% of West Sussex children an unhealthy weight

38% of 10 to 11 year-olds in West Sussex are an unhealthy weight.

While almost 9,000 children in the county claim a free school meal.

The figures have been highlighted by the leader of Crawley Council, Peter Lamb, who says ongoing cuts to social security and a fall in real wages due to inflation, mean children’s futures are increasingly being determined by their parents’ success.

Crawley’s Head Coach remains positive

Crawley Town’s Head Coach Harry Keywell says he’s disappointed with yesterday’s 2 nil loss to Charlton Athletic but insists there are positives.

Reflecting on the Reds’ performance he says they came up short at crucial points and felt key moments went against them, although they did do enough to get something out of the game.

It’s been a poor start to the season so far, with winning only 1 of their 6 games since the new season started – putting them at 20th in their League.

They play Yeovil Town at home on Saturday.
