A Confiscation Order for over £250,000 was made under the Proceeds of Crime Act and is due to be paid to the victim.

Arson Attack in Crawley

Renewed appeals are being made following an arson attack in Crawley.

A piece of cloth was pushed through the letterbox of a ground floor flat in Titmus Drive last month. It was then set alight using petrol.

A black jerry can was left at the scene of the attack the early hours of September 23rd.

The occupants, two adults and a five-month-old baby, escaped unharmed.

Three men were seen getting out of a small black car in Tilgate Parade shortly before the alarm was raised. It is believed they may be important witnesses to the incident.

Surrey Funding Gap

Schools in Surrey face a shortfall in funding of over £50 million.

David Hodge, Leader of Surrey County Council, revealed yesterday a shortfall to deliver the 3,000 extra school places for next September.

Mr Hodge believes funding from the government will only be £30 million, whereas over £80 million is required to ensure every Surrey child gets a school place.

The authority had to find an additional £30 million on top of government funding to provide enough school places this year.

Suspicious Fires in Crawley

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a number of fires in Crawley at the weekend.

A bin was set alight in West Green Park off Ifield Avenue; a road bollard was targeted at the corner of Seymour Road and Fennell Crescent; and a cupboard was ablaze attached to a shop in Broadfield Barton.

In all instances it is believed the fires were started deliberately.
