Football Update

Crawley Town striker Matt Harrold played in goal for over 50 minutes and won man of the match as The Reds conceded a last-minute equaliser to draw 2 all with MK Dons on Saturday Afternoon.

With no recognised keeper on the bench, Harrold came on for regular Brian Jensen after the Dane dislocated a finger.

Elsewhere, in the Ryman League, Redhill lost 2-1 at Worthing and Three Bridges lost 3-0 at Faversham Town. And better news for Merstham who enjoyed a good away 2-0 win at Walton Casuals and East Grinstead Town who won 2-1 at Hastings United.

Electric Blankets

‘Is your electric blanket safe?’ – that was the question firefighters were left asking after 40% of the blankets brought in to recent testing events failed a routine safety check.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service held more than a dozen free testing events around the county between May and December. 166 of the 412 electric blankets tested were found to be potentially dangerous.

Blankets over 10 years old are the most potentially dangerous and if you have one of these, either replace it with a new one or have it tested. You can find a list of testing stations at :
