Football Update

Merstham remain in 20th place in the Ryman Premier League after losing 2-1 away to Hendon on Saturday.

In the Ryman South Division, South Park won 5-1 at home to Walton Casuals.  This bodes well for next weekend as they prepare for their second round FA Trophy match at Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.  East Grinstead lost 4-2 away to Ramsgate and it was a goalless draw for Horsham in their home match with Guernsey.  Three Bridges’ home match against Tooting and Mitcham was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Elsewhere Horley Town lost 3-2 away to Hounslow, and Redhill remain in second place in Division One of the Combined Counties League, after winning 4-1 at home to Farleigh.

Football Update

In League 2, Crawley Town enjoyed a 3-1 home win against bottom of the table Newport County. Goals from James Collins, Josh Yorwerth and Jimmy Smith ensured that Newport would remain propping up the table at Christmas. The Reds move up to 11th place.

In the Ryman League, Merstham drew 2 all at Canvey Island in their premier division clash. In the Division 1 South, East Grinstead Town managed an impressive 4-2 away win at Cray Wanderers. The match between Ramsgate and Three Bridges was abandoned and South Park’s away fixture at Faversham Town was postponed.

Elsewhere, Horley Town came off best in a goal fest that saw them beat Windsor 5-3, while Redhill beat Dorking 2 nil at West Humble Playing Fields.
