Annie talks to Surrey Harmony

Award-winning Ladies Barbershop choir Surrey Harmony will sing at the Harlequin Theatre in Redhill on 26th November.

Their latest show is called ‘Shaken, Not Stirred’ – an evening inspired by 007, bringing the glamour of James Bond to the Harlequin Theatre.

Lead member Angela Taylor spoke to our presenter Annie Whitmore about barbershop harmony and the forthcoming show

St Marks Players perform Agatha Christie

St Marks Players are an amateur dramatics group based in Reigate, Surrey.

They produce and perform a variety of plays for public entertainment and their own enjoyment. The main venue for performances is the hall at St Mark’s Church Centre in Reigate.

St Marks Players’ next production will be on 24 and 25 November 2016 and will comprise two short plays by Agatha Christie: ‘The Rats’ and ‘The Patient’

£350,000 grant for YMCA East Surrey

Do you remember the Prudential Ride London – Surrey bike event last July? Proceeds from the event are distributed to charitable causes by the London Marathon Charitable Trust. They provide grants towards capital projects with the aim of inspiring people to lead a more active lifestyle and increase the number of people regularly taking part in sport and physical activities.

One major beneficiary from this summer’s event is the YMCA East Surrey who were awarded a £350,000 grant. Tess Lewsey spoke to Ian Burks, the Chief Executive of YMCA East Surrey.
