Train franchise structure needs to be looked at says Crawley’s MP

Crawley’s MP Henry Smith says lessons need to be learnt over the structure of train franchises in the UK, after branding Southern services “unacceptable”.

Writing in the Crawley Observer he says “questions have to be asked over one company running services spanning from Cambridge to Brighton.”

It follows his recent speech in the House of Commons where he outlined the “sheer misery” commuters in the South have suffered for a year and called on the Unions to stop their industrial action because a very generous offer was on the table.
