Saturday 15 August 2020 marks the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan), the day on which Imperial Japan surrendered in World War II, in effect bringing the war to an end.

Surrey is marking the event, and full informaton can be found on the Surrey County Council website.

Guildford – Service of Commemoration. Castle to be lit red, white and blue.

Leatherhead – Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving

 
Sunday 16 August 2020

Guildford Cathedral – Service of Memorial. 09:45am Live and to be broadcast on the Cathedral social media channels. More information about how to view can be found on the Guildford Cathedral website.

There will be a two minute silence at 11am to remember those who sacrificed so much for us all.
