M25 J5-6 Embankment works to begin from the end of June

Embankment works will take place on the M25 between Godstone and Sevenoaks from the end of this month until November.

Work is expected to be carried out during the day and night and access will be required from the motorway for the first three months.

Residents in the area will be notified but Tandridge District Council said efforts will be made to minimise the disturbance

New £4million school for Crawley pupils

Work on a new primary school which will provide for more than 200 pupils in Crawley will begin next month.

Woodgate Primary School will offer state of the art classrooms, a special educational needs room and an early years provision when it opens at the start of the 2021 school year for 210 students.

The £4million building project is set to start in July as part of a wider community development between Crawley and Pease Pottage.

“Coronavirus Memorial” suggested to honour victims

The leader of Crawley Borough Council, Peter Lamb has suggested for a memorial to be made in honour of those who died from Coronavirus.

Figures from the Office of National Statistics show that, from March to May, 73 people in Crawley have died after contracting the virus. Most were from hostels and care homes.

In East Grinstead, the death toll stands at 43, while 13 have died in Copthorne and Turners Hill.

New Chairman for ‘Wasps’

Ladies football club the ‘Crawley Wasps’ have a new chairman.

Jack Ayles takes over the helm from Paul Walker who is stepping down after three years in the role.

Jack says he’s looking forward to working with all those who have helped the club to where it is now.
