FA Trophy: Draw For Third Qualifying Round

The FA Trophy third qualifying round was drawn yesterday.

Horsham will host Step 4 side, Welwyn Garden City.  Merstham have also drawn a home tie and will meet Carshalton Athletic.  Three Bridges travel to Needham Market in the next round, and Whyteleafe are away to Chesham United.

All matches take place on Saturday 31st October for a place in the First Round Proper.

Football Update

Crawley Town are in 11th place in League 2 after losing 2-0 away to Cheltenham on Saturday.

In the Isthmian League Premier Division, Horsham won 2-1 away to Wingate and Finchley.  Merstham drew 2-2 away to Thurrock United.

East Grinstead are in second place in the South East Division table winning 3-0 away to Ashford United.  Three Bridges won 2-1 away to Ramsgate.

South Park lost their South Central Division match 3-1 away to Ashford Town.

There were mixed results for our local teams in their FA Vase 2nd Qualifying Round ties; Horley are through to the next round winning 3-2 away to Punjab United in Gravesend. Redhill lost 1-0 to Raynes Park Vale at Kiln Brow.  

Crawley Wasps LFC 0 MK Dons 1

 

Crawley Wasps Ladies’ Football Club lost 1-0 at home to MK Dons on Sunday. 

The match was played at The New Defence in Horley; the Wasps’ new home for this season.  It was the their first league defeat since September last year, and only the third defeat in their last 54 league games. 

Crawley Wasps will look to bounce back tonight when they visit Gillingham.  Kick off is at 7.45 pm.

Football Update

In League 2, Crawley Town picked up three points on the road on Saturday after beating Oldham 3-2.  Goals came from Ashley Nadesan, George Francomb and Tom Nichols.  Head Coach John Yems spoke after his side’s victory at Boundary Park:

 

In the Isthmian Premier Division Merstham lost 1-0 at home to Enfield Town and Horsham lost 2-1 at home to Cheshunt.

Horley Town won their Southern Combination League match 4-0 against East Preston at the New Defence.

In the Combined Counties Premier Division, Redhill lost 3-2 away to Badshot Lea.

Two of our local teams met in the First Qualifying round of the FA Trophy.  The final score was South Park 0 Three Bridges 1.

Football Update

 

In League 2, Crawley Town won their first home league game of the season on Saturday, beating Scunthorpe United 1-0 . 

The first Isthmian League games of the season got underway at the weekend.  Horsham drew 1-1 away to Leatherhead FC in their Premier Division match.  Merstham lost 2-1 away to Hornchurch.

In the South East Division, East Grinstead won 4-1 away to Haywards Heath.  Three Bridges lost 4-1 away to Sevenoaks Town.

South Park lost their South Central match 2-0 away to Waltham Abbey FC.

It was good news for our local teams in the first qualifying round of the FA Vase.  Lingfield, Horley Town and Redhill are all through to round 2.
