People urged not to call 101 for permission during lockdown

Surrey police say they received 50% more calls to 101 yesterday morning as lockdown began.

Many of them were related to lockdown with callers asking what they’re allowed to do.

The force says they can’t give permission to do something adding people need to decide for themselves.

They’ve asked their lines remain free for those in need.
