Merstham Football Club has announced Barry Hayles as Frank Wilson’s Assistant Manager.
Barry has played for Millwall, Leicester City and Bristol Rovers, and is best known for being part of Fulham’s most successful squad that was promoted from the Championship to the Premier League.
Merstham FC has also confirmed that Perry Gough has returned to the Moatside as Assistant First Team Coach, working alongside Barry Hayles.
Reigate Women FC Lionesses ended their season as champions.
In a big finale at Meadowbank in Dorking at the weekend, all nine teams involved in the inaugural Surrey FA Flexible League came together to see out the competition.
The Lionesses ended the day with a 3-1 win over club rivals Reigate Women FC Panthers to secure the title.
Week 8’s league cricket brings wins for East Grinstead and Three Bridges, Reigate Priory and South Nutfield stay top of their tables, and there’s double success at Horley, where Chris Allen completes 20,000 runs for the club.

Crawley Town Football Club has reached an agreement with Horsham FC to use their new Hop Oast Stadium as their training base.
The Hop Oast Stadium opened earlier this month with two new 3G pitches. As part of the partnership, the two clubs will work closely on some initiatives; Crawley Town will provide Horsham with loan players as the Hornets prepare for a new season in the Bostik Premier Division following promotion in April.
