Football Update

Crawley Town 1-1 with bottom of the table Notts County yesterday.  The Reds are in 19th place in League 2.

Merstham enjoyed a 2-0 win against Kingstonian in their last home league match of the season.

In the Bostik South East Division, Horsham won 2-1 away to Guernsey, and Three Bridges won 2-0 away to Whyteleafe.  East Grinstead Town lost 3-1 away to Haywards Heath Town.

South Park drew 1-1 at home to Tooting and Mitcham in their Bostik South Central match.

In the Combined Counties Premier Division it was a respectable 2-2 draw for Horley Town at home to league winners and FA Vase finalists, Chertsey Town.

Crawley Wasps LFC Clinch League Title

Crawley Wasps Ladies Football Club secured the win they needed to win the league title yesterday.  The Wasps became the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East champions after winning 1-0 at home to Enfield.  Crawley Wasps are promoted to the Southern Premier Division next season.

In League 2 Crawley Town won 1-0 away to Yeovil on Saturday.  Filipe Morais scored in the 64th minute.15

In the Bostik Premier Division Merstham lost 3-1 at home to Folkestone Invicta.

Horsham have secured a place in the Bostik League South East Division play offs after beating Herne Bay 3-2.  The win means they can’t now finish outside of the top five. East Grinstead lost 5-4 away to VCD Athletic and Three Bridges lost 3-0 away to Faversham Town.

South Park lost their Bostik South Central Division match 4-1 at home to Cheshunt.

Crawley Wasps LFC In Race For League Title

Crawley Wasps Ladies’ need just one more win from their final four games of the season to win the title, following a 6-1 victory over Cambridge United on Sunday.  

The win takes Paul Walker’s side 10 points clear of Billericay meaning they could clinch the FA Women’s National League Division 1 South East title, if they win their match against Enfield on Sunday.

The first ‘On the Front Foot’ of 2019 sees Tim Bowling and David Jay discussing local cricket before they’re joined by Stuart Warren and Trevor Stevens from Horley CC. Stuart reports on progress at Horley, then Trevor joins Tim and David to talk over last winter, and prospects for the coming season at home, in the professional game.
